“ You can manipulate data in Excel using Python charts and libraries, and then use Excel formulas, charts, and pivot tables to further refine your ideas. Now you can perform advanced data analysis in the familiar Excel environment by accessing Python directly from the Excel Ribbon ,” said Microsoft spokesperson Stefan Kinnestrand.

Microsoft announced the integration of a new PY feature into Excel that allows you to display Python data in an Excel spreadsheet grid. Through a partnership with Anaconda, popular libraries such as pandas, statsmodels, and Matplotlib will be available in Excel.

Microsoft 365 Insiders beta testers can evaluate how Python works in Excel. The function will first be released in Excel for Windows, and later will be available on other platforms. Python in Excel will be included in a Microsoft 365 trial subscription, but “certain features without a paid license will be limited.”
