Microsoft Edge has become the second most popular browser on Windows

Microsoft Edge has become the second most popular browser on Windows

Analyst firm StatCounter published a report in which it said that the Microsoft Edge browser has won over the past few months to its side a lot of users in the computer segment (PC, Mac, and Linux). Of course, Google Chrome is still the most popular browser globally, accounting for 67.14% of the desktop browser market. But the success of Edge cannot be overlooked.

According to StatCounter, Microsoft Edge has overtaken Firefox in computers. Now the latter is in fourth place with a market share of 7.95%. While Safari is the second most popular browser (10.11%), Microsoft Edge came in third (8.03%) and actively attracted new users in recent months. If we consider only Windows, then here Edge is already occupying the second line in the popularity rating.

If Microsoft Edge continues to grow at its current pace, it will overtake Safari overall and strengthen its position as the # 2 browser. Statcounter noted that laptops are also included in the sample, which should signal how far the Edge has come.

Microsoft is clearly doing well, but it looks like people are still in no rush to give up Internet Explorer. According to the report, the browser holds 1.7% of the market and is slowly losing users. It’s also worth noting that Firefox still has a larger overall share than Edge when looking at mobile and tablet numbers, but it is also slowly falling.
