Microsoft is working on an affordable 12.5-inch Surface laptop
The Microsoft Surface family includes both traditional laptops and tablets, which are marketed as 2-in-1 devices. The most affordable device in the series right now is the Surface Go 2, which starts at $ 399. It has now become known that Microsoft is working on a new affordable computer.
According to Windows Central, Microsoft is developing a new mid-range laptop, codenamed Surface Sparti, that will target students. The online publication, relying on a reliable source, reports that the laptop will receive a 12.5-inch screen, and its basic equipment will come with a tenth generation Intel Core i5 processor, 4 GB of RAM, and 64 GB of SSD-drive.
Sparti is expected to be in the company’s product line between Surface Go and Surface Pro. According to forecasts, its cost in the basic configuration will be about $ 500. The source claims that despite the low cost, the build quality of the laptop will be on par with the more expensive Surface devices. Microsoft is expected to announce new products next month, and Sparti could be one of them.
Note that the 13.5-inch Surface Laptop 3 is the most affordable laptop in Microsoft’s range of devices right now, with a base configuration of $ 999 and offering a Core i5 processor, 8GB of RAM, and a 128GB solid-state drive.
