Microsoft to host an online Xbox event in the coming weeks
Microsoft plans to host What’s Next for Gaming online in the coming weeks. Mary Jo Foley, a journalist for ZDNet, known for her regular coverage of Microsoft news, products, and technologies, spoke about this.
Recently on Xbox come mostly good news in Xbox Game Pass has added Outriders on release, and soon will be MLB The Show 21 (developed by Sony). Microsoft also hosted an ID @ Xbox event in March, featuring dozens of games from independent developers. On this wave, the corporation plans to hold another event, as the ZDNet publication’s expert said.
According to Foley, Microsoft is planning a series of small virtual “What’s Next?” Events as part of its major Build 2021 developer conference from May 25-27. One of them will be specially designed for games.
Given that this event will be part of Build, it is unlikely that the corporation will announce any new games. However, we should expect the presentation of new features and technologies that Microsoft is working on to improve developers’ lives in the gaming space. Perhaps it is at this event that plans for further developing the Xbox cloud service will be revealed.
