Mishustin believes that the Tu-214 will be a “normal car” after completion
Today, a large delegation arrived at the Kazan Aviation Plant named after S.P. Gorbunov (a branch of Tupolev PJSC), which included Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, Minister of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov and Finance Minister Anton Siluanov. This, of course, was about the passenger version of the Tu-214, which is produced at the plant and which Russian air carriers are waiting for.

The delegation got acquainted with the operation of a large-sized electron-beam welding unit and a vacuum annealing unit for titanium alloys. Mikhail Mishustin was also shown the stocks of the aggregate assembly of civilian Tu-214s.
The Prime Minister of the Russian Federation climbed on board, inspected the interior and cockpit of the liner. And talking with the pilots, he said: “ There is something to work on here and something to modernize. But reliability and, in principle, Russian developments, which were from the very beginning, are very important. Now we are talking about import substitution and other things – when something needs to be redone. But there was logic here – a design idea, and Russian technological solutions were laid down. This is easier to work with. It seems to me that if we refine it normally, it will be a great car .”
