The plant began operating in 1930
November 6, 2023 marked 93 years since the launch of the Moscow enterprise, which today again produces passenger cars under the Moskvich brand.
It all started with the resolution of the Council of People’s Commissars of the RSFSR on the construction of an automobile plant in Moscow, issued on September 2, 1927. In fact, construction of the plant began in August 1929, and already on November 6, 1930, the enterprise, located at the intersection of the Moscow Circular Railway and Ostapovskoe Highway (today Volgogradsky Prospekt), began its activities. The first products of the plant were Ford A cars and Ford AA trucks, assembled from American components.
