Microsoft released the major Windows 10 May 2020 Update (version 2004) at the end of May. The company immediately openly recognized many problems with this update and for many users, it is not yet available for this reason. However, there are also unrecognized troubles for Microsoft caused by the Windows 10 May 2020 Update on the computer.
The new version of Windows 10 incompatible with Intel Optane
As it turned out, the Windows 10 May 2020 Update is not compatible with Intel Optane memory modules. When installing the update on a device with Intel Optane, the user will encounter a number of problems. Complaints about them have already appeared on social networks, the Intel forum, and in the standard feedback app Hub.
Microsoft did not report such an error, but, apparently, Intel Optane is among those features of the system that do not allow Windows 10 May 2020 Update to be received automatically. If you install the update using the Media Creation Tool, then the user will encounter incompatibility. Windows 10 will simply remove the Optane Memory Pinning (pinning Intel Optane memory) from the device, but will still try to launch it, which will lead to numerous errors and even performance problems.
To solve the problem, you can try to remove Intel Optane Pinning Explorer Extensions, turn off Intel Optane and restart the PC, then activate Intel Optane and restart the PC again. If the error still appears, then you will have to remove the Windows 10 May 2020 Update.
