Nissan Magnite vs. Hyundai Exter

Nissan Magnite vs. Hyundai Exter: A Feature Comparison

The Nissan Magnite and Hyundai Exter are two popular sub-4m SUVs in the Indian market. Both cars offer a decent package of features and are priced competitively. However, there are a few key differences that set them apart.

360-Degree Camera

One of the standout features of the Nissan Magnite is its 360-degree camera system. This feature is available from the higher-spec Tekna variant and provides a comprehensive view of the car’s surroundings, making parking and maneuvering in tight spaces much easier. In contrast, the Hyundai Exter only offers a reverse parking camera and a dashcam.

Digital Driver Display

The Nissan Magnite also offers a more advanced digital driver display compared to the Hyundai Exter. The Magnite comes with a 7-inch fully digital driver’s display from the mid-spec N-Connecta variant, while the Exter only has a semi-digital display in all variants.

Turbo Engine Option

While both the Magnite and Exter offer petrol engine options, the Magnite has the advantage of a turbo-petrol engine. This provides a more powerful and responsive driving experience, especially for those who enjoy spirited driving. The Exter is only available with a naturally aspirated petrol engine, but it does offer a CNG option for those looking for better fuel efficiency.

Ambient Lighting

The 2024 Nissan Magnite features 4-color ambient lighting, which adds a touch of personality to the interior. This feature is available only with the fully loaded Tekna Plus variant. The Hyundai Exter does not offer any ambient lighting.

Auto-Dimming IRVM

Another feature that sets the Magnite apart is its auto-dimming IRVM. This feature helps to reduce glare from headlights, improving visibility during night driving. The Hyundai Exter has a day/night IRVM, but it does not have the auto-dimming function.

Leatherette Seat Upholstery

The 2024 Nissan Magnite offers a more premium interior with leatherette seat upholstery and soft-touch materials on the dashboard and door pads. In contrast, the Hyundai Exter only has leatherette upholstery on the steering wheel and gear lever, while the seats have a semi-leatherette upholstery.

Price and Rivals

The Nissan Magnite is priced from Rs 5.99 lakh to Rs 11.50 lakh, while the Hyundai Exter is priced between Rs 6 lakh and Rs 10.43 lakh. Both cars compete with other popular sub-4m SUVs like the Tata Nexon, Kia Sonet, Maruti Brezza, Mahindra XUV 300, Renault Kiger, Citroen C3, and Toyota Taisor.
