The head of the company believes that consumers do not need them
Nothing company introduced its Phone (2) smartphone a couple of hours ago . And although the design has not changed much compared to the first generation, the smartphone still looks unusual compared to most devices on the market. Nothing could well release the most unusual folding smartphone, but it is not going to do this yet.

The head of the company, Carl Pei, said that Nothing has no plans to release a folding smartphone yet. The reason is simple: Pei does not see anything particularly attractive in this segment and believes that most consumers are not interested in such smartphones now.
It’s good that some manufacturers are making them, but if you look at how foldables have evolved, you’ll see they’re the same again. If you cover up the logo, I don’t think the consumer will be able to tell them apart. I don’t think consumers go around and say, “Hey, I wish my phone folded.” I think this is an innovation that manufacturers impose on the consumer.
In terms of sales, foldable smartphones have a very small share of the market, but their sales are growing strongly even now , when the market as a whole is falling.
