Physically, it corresponds to the upcoming 12V-2×6
It looks like the same 12V-2×6 connector that should replace the current 12VHPWR is actually already in use.
Of course, it may not be called that yet, but starting with the GeForce RTX 4070 FE, Nvidia has been using a modified 12VHPWR, which differs from the original by pins shifted deep into the connector. Recall that this is one of the most important differences between 12V-2×6 and 12VHPWR.
Nvidia has been using an updated power connector for a long time.
This solution leads to the fact that the connector will only work when it is connected normally and completely.
In the 12VHPWR connector, the contacts are recessed into the case by 0.45 mm, and in the 12V-2×6 – by 1.7 mm. This applies only to the bottom line of contacts.
In addition to Founders Edition adapters, MSI video cards are now equipped with the updated connector. If the RTX 4080 Gaming X Trio model still uses the old version, then the new one can already be found in the RTX 4070 Gaming X Trio.
