This time OnePlus has created an uncompromising flagship

Xiaomi, iQOO, Red Magic and Redmi have already presented their 2024 flagships, and today it’s OnePlus’ turn. The company introduced OnePlus 12, and if previous flagships were not very different from other models in their niche, then OnePlus 12 breaks this tradition.

OnePlus 12 has an ultra-bright screen – peak brightness is 4500 cd/sq.m. There are currently no brighter panels in the industry. The diagonal is 6.82 inches, resolution is 3216 × 1440 pixels, frame rate is 120 Hz, PWM adjustment frequency is 2160 Hz. The display is protected by tempered Corning Gorilla Victus Glass.

The hardware platform is based on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC. A vapor chamber with an area of ​​more than 9000 mm ²  effectively dissipates heat, which allowed OnePlus 12 to set a record among all flagships on Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 .

The battery capacity was 5400 mAh , OnePlus says that the device lasts 1.79 days in battery mode, and this is a record among the new generation flagships. Supports 100W wired charging, 50W wireless charging, and reverse wireless charging.

The main sensor of the main camera is a new generation 50-megapixel Sony LYT-808. The module with the ultra-wide-angle lens has a 48-megapixel Sony IMX581 sensor, and the periscope module uses a 64-megapixel OmniVision OV64B sensor. The camera, tuned by Hasselblad engineers, provides 3x optical zoom. The company has already shown examples of shooting with the main camera . The front camera has a 32-megapixel Sony IMX615 sensor.

Other features of the smartphone include IP65 protection, Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4 adapters, a powerful and adaptive vibration motor, a modified multifunctional NFC chip ,  “holographic sound” and stereo speakers, a proprietary Alert Slider switch, an ultra-thin under-screen fingerprint scanner, an IR emitter and a port USB-C 3.2. Software platform – ColorOS 14 based on Android 14.
