And the periscope “telephoto” only with a threefold approximation
According to insider Digital Chat Station, the main camera of the forthcoming OnePlus 12 smartphone will rely on a 1/1.4-inch optical Sony IMX9xx sensor. This is a fairly large sensor, but it is very far from the largest sensors that have been used in various smartphones for the second year.
Also, the smartphone will receive a 50 megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera based on an unknown sensor, and (for the first time for OnePlus) a periscope telephoto camera. It will be a camera with a resolution of 64 megapixels, but for some reason only with a threefold optical zoom.
OnePlus 12 will receive Sony IMX9xx – far from the largest sensor by modern standards
This is strange, since such cameras usually provide five times the optical zoom. Perhaps the maximum zoom values will be far from the record ones. On the other hand, zooming three times is more useful in common use cases than zooming five times.
Digital Chat Station was previously the first to accurately announce the specifications and release dates of Redmi K30, K40, Xiaomi Mi 10 and Mi 11.
