“Rossiyskaya Gazeta” publishes a study “Auto Discovery” on prices in the Russian car market in March. It turned out that there are both more expensive models and cheaper ones.
The first, alas, is the popular frame SUV Toyota Land Cruiser 300 – it added 12%, to 8.74 million rubles. Interestingly, another well-known SUV also went up in price by about the same 11-12%, but at the other end of the price range: the average cost of Lada Niva Legend increased to 972 thousand rubles. However, if the increase in the price of Toyota Land Cruiser 300 is due to objective factors (for example, the strengthening of Japanese sanctions), then the increase in the price of Niva is purely speculative, while there is no shortage of Niva.

Prices also went up for BMW 5 and 3 series (by 5.82%), Nissan Qashqai and X-Trail (4–5%), Volkswagen Polo, Kia Sportage, Lada Vesta and Niva Travel, Skoda Octavia and Mitsubishi Outlander ( by about 3%).
But there are also models that became cheaper in March. So, for example, Hyundai Santa Fe and Creta became more affordable by 5.3–5.7%, Kia Rio and Volkswagen Tiguan fell in price by about 4%, Mazda CX-5 — by 3.2%.
The authors of the study note that price fluctuations in the market in March amounted to an average of 4-6%. The decrease in the cost of a number of models is mainly due to too high expectations of their sellers in February, so prices had to be adjusted with the beginning of spring.
