Bengal’s Rich Heritage Takes Center Stage

The Gold award was bestowed upon Arpan Basu Chowdhury from Kolkata for his captivating photo series, “A Forgotten Legacy.” This series beautifully immortalizes the Bahurupi art form, a traditional performance art on the brink of extinction in rural West Bengal. Chowdhury’s masterful use of the OPPO Find X7 Ultra brought this fading cultural treasure to life, earning him widespread acclaim.

Expressing his elation, Chowdhury shared, “Winning the imagineIF Photography Award is an absolute honor. OPPO India has provided a remarkable platform for young photographers like me to share our stories. Capturing the essence of Bahurupi through the lens of the OPPO Find X7 Ultra was an unforgettable experience. It allowed me to truly showcase the diversity and richness of our country.”

A Diverse Spectrum of Photographic Excellence

The Silver awards were presented to Madhumita Nandi from Kolkata and Sanket Joshi from Aurangabad. Nandi’s thought-provoking series, “Tongueless Whispering,” delves into the profound impact of consumerism on both humans and animals. Joshi’s work, “Moments from Wari,” captures the spiritual fervor of the Warkari tradition in Maharashtra.

In the Bronze category, Pralay Jana from Kolkata, Chiranjit Dey from Purulia, and Ajeesh Ajayakhosh from Kollam were recognized for their exceptional talent. Jana’s “Golden Horizons: Balugaon’s Fishing Community Bathed in Warmth” showcases the serene beauty of Chilika Lake in Odisha, while Dey’s “Faces Behind the Mask: Unveiling Chhau Outdoors” offers a glimpse into the vibrant world of Jharkhand’s Chhau dance. Ajayakhosh’s “Nature’s Palette: A Symphony of Love” is a mesmerizing portrayal of insect courtship.
