Compared to the current Mi-26, power will increase by 15%
Vladimir Artyakov, First Deputy General Director of Rostec, said that in the next 2-3 years, PD-8 engines will be installed on domestic Mi-26 helicopters – this will be a modified version of the engine for the latest domestic airliner SSJ-New.

PD-8 engines from the SSJ-New airliner will be installed on Mi-26 helicopters in 2-3 years
“ We need 2-3 years, we will bring the PD-8 to the point of putting it on the Mi-26. I want to note that the engine power will be 15% higher than those that we set earlier ,” said Vladimir Artyakov.
Recall that the United Engine Corporation in June announced the start of work on the PD-8 engine for Mi-26 helicopters. It should replace the Ukrainian D-136 engine.
