Psychological thriller The Signifier will get a director’s cut by the end of the month
Publisher Raw Fury and developer Playmestudio, in a new press release, have confirmed the release date of the director’s version of their psychological thriller, The Signifier, on the PC.

Recall that plans to expand The Signifier in Playmestudio were announced back in December 2020. Still, until recently, the creators were extremely reluctant to talk about the timing of the new edition’s premiere.
The Signifier: Director’s Cut (as the new version is called) will be available on April 22 this year on PC (Steam, GOG). Owners of the original game will receive a free upgrade.
As for the previously confirmed release on consoles, the premiere of The Signifier: Director’s Cut on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and S is expected before the end of this year.
The directorial edition will differ from the basic edition of The Signifier with an extended story (memories, dialogues, endings) and additional gameplay features (story difficulty level, customizable controls).
The developers also promise to improve performance, animations, and interface, optimize the game for low-power PCs, reduce downloads and introduce support for two modes of operation: 4K at 60 frames / s and 1080p at more than 100 frames / s.
The Signifier was released in October 2020 for PC. In the story, the players in psychologist Frederick Russell’s role need to penetrate the human subconscious’s depths to help with the investigation of the murder of the vice president of a large IT corporation.
