Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X Plus 8-Core: A Powerful New SoC for Copilot+ PCs

Qualcomm has unveiled the Snapdragon X Plus 8-Core, a new system on a chip (SoC) designed to power Copilot+ PCs. This follows the release of the 10-core version earlier this year and is a significant addition to Qualcomm’s portfolio of mobile computing solutions.

Enhanced Performance and Efficiency

The Snapdragon X Plus 8-Core is powered by an 8-core Qualcomm Oryon CPU, which offers a substantial 61% increase in CPU performance compared to previous generations. According to Qualcomm, competitors would need to consume 179% more power to achieve a similar peak performance.

The SoC is built on the same 4nm process node and technology as other Snapdragon X series chips, ensuring efficient power consumption and optimal performance. In terms of single-thread and multithread performance, the Snapdragon X Plus 8-Core outperforms competitors, delivering up to 22% faster speeds in single-thread tasks and 41% faster speeds in multithread tasks.

The integrated GPU supports up to three external monitors, providing exceptional graphics and immersive visual experiences. Additionally, the Qualcomm Hexagon NPU, with its 45 TOPS capacity, enables the SoC to handle AI-driven applications with ease.

Starting today, PCs from leading brands like Acer, ASUS, Dell, HP, Lenovo, and Samsung will be available with the Snapdragon X Plus 8-Core. These devices will be priced starting at USD 799 (approximately Rs. 67,105), making them accessible to a wide range of consumers.
