In any case, the PC World resource refers to the senior vice president of Radeon Technologies Group Scott Herkelman, who in his comments urges to keep in mind that the company did not really disclose to which segment the video card demonstrated yesterday belongs.

According to these data, the novelty from AMD can be compared with the GeForce RTX 3080 in terms of performance, but we must not forget that the company can present a more productive graphics card with the RDNA 2 architecture.
On the other hand, AMD used its latest Ryzen 9 5900X 12-core processor for testing, which was simply not available to the authors of the GeForce RTX 3080, so it’s difficult to talk about the fairness of the comparison. The potential of new video cards for ray tracing remains behind the scenes, but this and many other issues will certainly be discussed at the presentation, which is scheduled for October 28.
