Realme 8 5G coming April 21: 48MP triple camera – possibly rebranding V13 5G
Realme unveiled the Realme 8 smartphone last month, and now its Thai subsidiary has revealed that the company will unveil a 5G variant on April 21. In addition to the announcement, a short video was shown on the official Facebook account, revealing the Realme 8 5G.
As you can see, Realme 8 5G, unlike the 4G variant, does not come with a large proprietary motivating inscription “Dare to leap” (in Russian localization – “changing standards”) on the back. What’s more, unlike the 4G model, which comes with a 64MP quad-camera, the 5G version will have one less module on the back, and the main camera will only be able to rely on a 48MP sensor.
The video clip does not show the front of the Realme 8 5G, but it can be assumed that the smartphone will have a punch-hole display. This is because the Realme 8 5G appears to be the rebranding of the Realme V13 5G announced in China last month. The fact is that the back of the Realme 8 5G looks similar to the V13 5G. The smartphone was also spotted in Geekbench and FCC with a Dimensity 700 single-chip system, 8 GB of RAM, Android 11, a 5000 mAh battery, and a side fingerprint scanner – all these features are present in the V13 5G.
The thickness (8.5mm) and weight (185g) of the Realme 8 5G are also the same as the V13 5G. The only difference between the two phones currently known is the presence of an NFC chip, which the V13 5G lacks. So if the Realme 8 5G is indeed a rebranding of the V13 5G for global markets, it will come with a 6.5-inch FullHD + 90Hz LCD, 8MP front-facing camera, and 18W charging.
