Rumors: Sony will significantly modify The Last of Us in a remake and release it with a sequel on PS5

Bloomberg journalist Jason Schreier recently published an article about Sony’s policies regarding several of its game projects. In the article, he talked about The Last of Us‘s upcoming remake, which the Visual Arts Service Group first created, but then it was handed over to Naughty Dog. And in a new statement, Jason Schreier said that TLoU would undergo significant revision and be released on PlayStation 5, complete with a sequel.

The reporter shared the relevant information in the podcast The MinnMax Show. According to him, in the upcoming re-release, the visual component will be improved and the game mechanics. In particular, the developers want to bring up the combat system and shoot to the Last of Us Part II level. But the creators will not re-record the sound – it will remain the same.

Also, Jason Schreier explained why the development of the remake was given to Naughty Dog. After the sequel release, Sony needed something to keep most of the studio staff busy while its management thought over the concept of the next large-scale project.

Recall: according to numerous leaks and information from informants, Naughty Dog is also working on the multiplayer part of The Last of Us Part II. Official information about her and the TLoU remake has not yet been reported.
