Samsung Display launches production of smartphone screens in India
An Economic Times report says Samsung Display has begun manufacturing smartphone displays in India. The company currently produces more than 70% of TVs, smartphones, and tablets in countries such as China, Vietnam, and South Korea.
Citing knowledgeable sources, the Economic Times claims that the South Korean tech giant has been producing smartphone screens in the Indian city of Noida since April this year. A few months after reports, India is offering Samsung financial incentives if it launches a display factory. The Indian government is taking many measures to make the country the manufacturing center of the world.
Not so long ago, India allocated $ 1.02 billion to stimulate production in the country. It is reported that the Indian authorities are currently trying to attract chip makers to the country. As for Samsung Display, it is reported that it has invested about $ 653 million to move its display production from China to India. The company will also receive about $ 34 million from the Indian government as collateral for this project for five years. The company will also receive about $ 62 million from the Center for the Promotion of Electronic Components and Semiconductors. Samsung is expected to expand its portfolio of displays manufactured in India shortly.
