It will be faster than W920
Samsung’s new smartwatches will get a new processor this year. According to SamMobile, the Galaxy Watch6 models will be based on the Exynos W980 SoC.
Compared to the current W920, the new platform will be more than 10% faster. There is no data on the configuration of the platform, but Samsung can use its new 5nm process for its production, due to which the SoC should also become more energy efficient.
Samsung is finally changing the platform in its new smartwatches.
Recall that the Exynos W920 was used in two generations of Samsung smartwatches. This is normal for a market where new platforms sometimes do not come out for years, but still changing the SoC is a positive aspect.
Recall that watches are now also credited with larger screens and more capacious batteries. They should be presented at the end of summer.
