SmartSens Technology has announced the launch of the SC200AI image sensor, the first in its new Advanced Imaging (AI) line. According to the manufacturer, compared with previous generation SmartSens sensors, photosensitivity was increased by 27%, the signal-to-noise ratio was increased by two and a half times, and the level of crosstalk between R and G channels was reduced by 36%.

For the first time, the SmartClarity technology, which enhances image clarity, and the full-color night vision technology, based on the patented SFC (Source Follower Centric) architecture, which increases sensitivity and reduces noise, are the first to be used in the backlight sensor.

The 1 / 2.8-inch optical format sensor has a resolution of 2 megapixels. It supports HDR and delivers a 1080p video. The sensor is designed for surveillance cameras. Taking into account the scope of application, the manufacturer considers the advantages of SC200AI to maintain its operability and technical characteristics at a high level even in high-temperature conditions, for example, when the camera works outdoors in direct sunlight.

SC200AI samples are already available, and mass production should begin in late June.
