Shirley Halperin Joins Maer Roshan as Co-Editor-in-Chief of The Hollywood Reporter

The Hollywood Reporter (THR) has announced a significant change in its editorial leadership. Shirley Halperin, a seasoned entertainment journalist, has joined Maer Roshan as co-editor-in-chief of the prestigious publication.

Halperin, who previously held prominent roles at THR and Variety, brings a wealth of experience and a deep understanding of the entertainment industry. Her appointment marks a homecoming for the journalist, who will work alongside Roshan to shape the future of THR.

Nekesa Mumbi Moody, who has served as co-editor-in-chief since September 2023, is stepping down from her role. During her tenure, Moody oversaw significant changes at THR, including a website redesign and the launch of several successful initiatives such as Raising Our Voices and THR Titan.

Under Moody’s leadership, THR achieved numerous accolades, including National Magazine Awards and Society for Features Journalism awards. Roshan expressed gratitude for Moody’s contributions, recognizing her efforts in guiding THR through a period of transition and growth.
