Battery life is called the main problem of the current Google watch
Google Pixel Watch smart watches have many advantages, but almost all thematic resources have criticized their autonomy. This is partly due to the old Exynos 9110 SoC at the core. And the Pixel Watch 2 model, thankfully, will rely on a platform of a completely different level.
Smartwatch Pixel Watch 2 will keep the size, but will get a modern cost-effective platform
According to recent data, the Snapdragon W5 Gen 1 will serve as the heart of the new Google watch. It is much more energy efficient, since instead of the 10-nanometer process technology for the Exynos 9110, it is produced according to 4 nm standards. In addition, the new SoC has four Cortex-A53 cores versus only two for the Samsung solution, and the frequency is much higher: 1.7 GHz versus 1.15 GHz.
It is also worth recalling that in the Qualcomm line there is also the Snapdragon W5 Plus Gen 1 platform, but it differs only in the presence of the Qualcomm QCC5100 coprocessor. Also, the new Google watch will receive UWB support, which will expand the capabilities of the device.
But the design and dimensions, apparently, will not change, as Google will keep the display with a diameter of 1.2 inches with a resolution of 384 x 384 pixels, but will change the panel: it will now be supplied by Samsung, not BOE.
