At the same time, the iPhone 15 can charge them via USB-C

This year, Apple added a USB-C port to the iPhone 15 lineup, allowing it to work with USB-C cables, USB-C power banks, and other accessories. As it became known, some external batteries with USB-C connectors do not work properly with the iPhone 15.

As reported on Reddit and the MacRumors forum, not all existing USB-C power banks can be used with the iPhone 15 models, possibly due to the iPhone’s reverse charging feature. In some cases, the iPhone 15 does not charge or the smartphone itself begins to charge the external battery.

Accessory maker Anker said the only way to get the power bank to charge the iPhone 15 is to use a USB-A port. Anker will conduct additional tests on all external batteries and try to find a solution.

iPhone 15 smartphones can charge the Apple Watch, AirPods, or another iPhone. Most USB-C power banks with Power Delivery seem to work as expected, including several models tested by MacRumors, but iPhone 15 owners should be aware that some of the power banks may not be compatible with Apple’s new products.
