Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order Fails To Beat Battlefront To Win The Top Selling Star Wars Game In The United States
NPD Group analyst Mat Piscatella in honor of the last day of “Star Wars” in his microblog, revealed a list of the most successful franchise games in the United States.
According to Piscatella, the published rating takes into account data from January 1995 to March 2021. During this period, the analyst counted 106 products under the Star Wars license, including several bundles and “oddities.”
The NPD Group list below was compiled based on both retail and digital dollar sales of projects (Piscatella mentions Steam, PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo eShop).
The top 10 best-selling Star Wars games in the United States are as follows:
- Star Wars Battlefront (2015) ;
- Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order ;
- Star Wars Battlefront 2 (2017) ;
- LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga;
- Star Wars: The Force Unleashed;
- Star Wars Battlefront 2 (2005);
- LEGO Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy;
- LEGO Star Wars;
- Star Wars Battlefront (2004);
- Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire.The three most successful releases of the franchise were also the most recent: the leader of the rating in Star Wars Battlefront debuted in November 2015, and the other two came out even later.
Despite its cult status, the role-playing game Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic hasn’t made it to the top 10 list. According to unconfirmed information, a remake of the project is currently being prepared for release through the efforts of Aspyr Media.
It is known for sure that LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is currently in development (its release was recently postponed indefinitely ) and an unnamed adventure from Ubisoft and Massive Entertainment.
