Steam Weekly Chart: Outriders Still # 1, and Forza Horizon 4 Returns Top 3
Valve released information on the top-grossing games on Steam between April 5-11. The second consecutive week, the first place takes a cooperative shooter, Outriders from People Can Fly and Square Enix. Forza Horizon 4 and Sea of Thieves are back in the top five thanks to discounts.
Outriders lead the way despite mixed user reviews. Over the week, the game’s rating on Steam increased slightly: the share of positive reviews increased from 59% to 65% (the total number of responses exceeded 24 thousand). Most disgruntled customers still complain about server problems, optimizations, and bugs. Many complain about balance, player interaction, and lack of content. At the end of last week, the developers again promised to deal with all the problems and, as compensation to give gamers in-game items.
In his review for 3DNews, Mikhail Ponomarev called Outriders “a surprisingly successful compilation of recognizable ideas and mechanics, skillfully bringing to mind the best genre developments,” and even “in a sense, the standard of the genre. “
In second place is still It Takes Two. The co-op puzzle adventure from the creators of A Way Out also sells well on PlayStation, ranking # 4 in the US in March and # 3 in Europe.
Forza Horizon 4 is in third place. The racing game returned to the top 10 thanks to its participation in the Xbox Game Studios Sale (which ends at 10:00 p.m. ET on April 12) and a two-car update – the Porsche 356 Outlaw RSR and the 1968 Pontiac Firebird. The same promotion, arranged ahead of the start of the second season (scheduled for April 15), spurred the sales of Sea of Thieves. The action about sea pirates has reached the fourth position. Big Discount valid on a collection of Halo: to Master Master Chief of The Collection – it is in sixth place.
Horizon Zero Dawn Complete Edition moved up from sixth to fifth. Action RPG sales are boosted by a discount that also expires tonight. Survival simulator Valheim dropped from fourth place to seventh, and the Valve Index VR headset lost three positions to eighth. Closes the top ten The Binding of Isaac: Repentance – the add-on started last week from third place.
The only new addition to the top 10 is the Iberia add-on to Euro Truck Simulator 2, adding the Iberian Peninsula with many cities and villages (including Barcelona, Madrid, Lisbon, Leon, and Porto). The DLC has “very positive” user reviews (over 700 reviews in total).
The Evil Genius 2: World Domination strategy, which debuted last week in the seventh position, dropped out of the top ten.
