The production line is currently at the final stage of construction.
Tesla is building a new production line in a new building near its Gigafactory Nevada and plans to build Tesla Semi electric trucks there.
Tesla will produce just five Tesla Semi trucks a week in the early stages
Electrek learned last year that Tesla had acquired a large building of almost 50,000 square meters in the industrial park where Tesla’s Gigafactory Nevada is located. At that time, it was not known exactly what the manufacturer plans to use this building for.
Electrek now confirms that a new production line for the Tesla Semi is located in a building located at 550 Milan Drive, next to another building used as Tesla’s warehouse. At the moment it is at the final stage of construction.
However, this line will have a relatively small production capacity. According to the source, Tesla plans to assemble only five Tesla Semi electric trucks on it a week.
The Tesla Semi is slated to be mass-produced at Gigafactory Austin as soon as Tesla can ramp up battery cell production there.
