Pride Group Enterprises announced the reservation of 150 Tesla Semi electric trucks with the option to purchase a total of 500 Tesla Semi units. Depending on the final number and configurations of electric trucks, the contract value could range from the US $ 22 million to the US $ 100 million.

This is far from the first major contract with the American automaker for the supply of Tesla Semi. Earlier, the Walmart retailer reserved the delivery of a total of 130 Tesla Semi units, United Parcel Service (UPS), specializing in express delivery and logistics, reserved about 125 units, PepsiCo food company booked another 100 units.

When announcing the Tesla Semi in 2017, the automaker used a booking model that had proven itself well in the electric passenger car segment. To reserve the purchase of an electric truck, at first it was enough to make a deposit of $ 5,000, but then this amount increased to $ 20,000 for the reservation of the basic configuration, while for the reservation of the Founders Series version you would have to immediately pay the full cost of $ 200,000.
