Browser is already running
The authors of the 9to5google resource managed to launch a prototype of the Google Chrome browser for iOS , which cannot now be released in the App Store due to a violation of Apple policy.
Our colleagues used Xcode Simulator to run Blink-based Chrome on iOS and test it out. In general, the browser works fine and looks familiar. Some sites may not work correctly, realizing that the device is accessing them through a non-standard browser. But this can be circumvented by making the prototype pretend to be a browser running Android.
The authors of 9to5google launched an “illegal” Chrome browser on Blink for iOS.
For now, all browsers for iOS should be WebKit-based, like Safari. Therefore, Chrome for iOS is a conditional clone of Safari, although it is not very correct to say so. However, Apple is now under the radar of a number of antitrust investigations, including restrictions on Apple’s browser engine, so Google may have the opportunity to bring Chrome to Blink for iOS in the future.
