The autonomy of the Apple Vision Pro headset is only about two hours, but this is the declared value, but the real one is still unknown. Initially, there was evidence that the capacity of the external battery of the device is only 6500 mAh, but there is another opinion.
The authors of the ChargerLab portal believe that the very dimensions of the external battery indicate a significantly larger capacity – about 20,000 mAh. But this would be just an assumption, if not for a number of calculations.
The battery capacity of the Apple Vision Pro headset
The fact is that Vision Pro has 12 cameras, a lot of sensors, two small, but very bright and clear screens, and two platforms at once. Is it possible that all this could work continuously for two hours with a 6500 mAh battery? The source recalls that only SoC M2 can consume up to 20 W under load, in addition, the headset also has SoC R1, which, according to some reports, may turn out to be the same M2, only focused on a narrow range of tasks.
Thus, if the Vision Pro really has a battery capacity of 20,000 mAh, then two hours of operation means a total device consumption of 30 watts. Considering all of the above, this is quite likely to be true. And in this case, it should be separately borne in mind that the external battery of the headset will be relatively heavy.
