The module includes a processor, memory and various interfaces
At the Innoprom-2023 exhibition that opened in Yekaterinburg, the NPO Automation named after academician N. A. Semikhatov, which is part of Roscosmos, presented processor modules of its own design. This was reported by the press service of the state corporation.
According to Roscosmos, the company used to use imported devices, but since 2022, having a full-cycle production of microelectronics, it began to manufacture them on its own.
The brains of any device
General Director of NPO Automation Mikhail Izyumov explained:
Our engineers have developed a line of processor modules. These are compact devices that are installed in the device and carry out the necessary calculations, that is, a kind of “brains” of any device. The module includes a processor, memory and various interfaces depending on the modification and purpose of the device.
Roscosmos noted that processor modules can be built into any device that uses a display. Now they are installed on domestic agricultural machinery, for which the company is developing control systems, including unmanned ones.
