A few days ago, Wizards of the Coast introduced a new video for the next set of “Ikoria: Giants’ Lair.”

The creators of Magic The Gathering change the name of the card due to coronavirus

The new set contains a number of cards with Japanese kaiju monsters, including the world-famous Godzilla. In general, there are 16 such animals and one of the cards is called Spacegodzilla, Death Corona (in the Russian version of Cosmogodzilla, Lightning of Death), associated with the breath-attack “the Corona Beam”.

When creating a map in the world there were no problems with infection. The authors understand that due to the coronavirus pandemic, this is not the best name for the card and rename it “Spacegodzilla, Void Invader”.

In the digital version of Magic The Gathering: Arena, no obstacles are foreseen, but the circulation of real cards has already been printed and the creators will do everything possible to remove them. But, judging by the uncertain statement, some of the cards will still go on sale.

The Icoria: Giants Lair set will appear in the game from April 16.
