Fairphone has officially introduced the fifth generation of its modular smartphones. Fairphone 5 debuted almost 2 years after the launch of Fairphone 4 and brings with it quite a few improvements.

Fairphone 4 was once promised a 5-year warranty, two major Android updates and software support until the end of 2025. Fairphone 5 is also promised a 5-year warranty, but software support will be even more impressive with 5 major Android updates after Android 13 and 8 years of security updates. The Fairphone 5 retains its modular design. The new phone is divided into ten modules that can be replaced separately from each other. Users can purchase these modules through the Fairphone website or from distribution partners. For example, microSD card slot, SIM card slot, camera and so on.

The recommended retail price of the Fairphone 5 is 699 euros. It is available for pre-order in sky blue, matte black, and also with a transparent panel.
