The head of the UEC told how the sanctions affected the aircraft engine industry.

But now there is no longer dependence on imported software

The Kommersant publication released a long interview with Vadim Badekha, CEO of the United Engine Corporation (UEC, part of Rostec). It contains a lot of interesting things, among other things, we also talked about how the sanctions affected the aircraft engine industry.

The head of the UEC told how the sanctions affected the aircraft engine industry.

“ We discovered a lot of interesting things for ourselves. As a rule, this is due to the fact that there are certain electrical and radio products that were previously manufactured abroad. This does not apply to combat aviation. Everything there was originally completely domestic. But in an amicable way, these problems were resolved quite quickly. At the moment, we have no dependence on imported components or imported elements, in principle ,” said Vadim Badekha.

“ Another thing is that we are faced with software problems. Today, the design and management of the life cycle of an engine, and indeed of any aircraft object, is, of course, carried out digitally. I think that this is not only in aviation, but the software that was used to develop aircraft engines, aircraft, for life cycle management, was imported. And, indeed, faced with this situation, we quickly united. There were strong, powerful development companies in the Russian Federation that were able to organize the release of the corresponding software. I can say that there is no dependence on imported software at the moment ,” added the head of the UEC.

While Scheffler, 28, will not be in Hawaii next week, he is expected to return for The American Express tournament in La Quinta, California, which commences on January 16.
