The head of Roscosmos, Yuri Borisov, told reporters about plans to deploy the domestic Griffon satellite constellation. According to him, the vehicles of the main group will be launched in 2025-2026, but already next year four experimental samples will be sent into orbit. As previously reported , the Griffin Earth monitoring system will consist of 136 spacecraft based on 16-unit platforms (one unit measuring 10x10x10 cm is the basic element in the creation of nanosatellites).

The Griffon satellite constellation will allow receiving data every 30 hours from the territory of Russia and at least 38 hours around the world. The system will analyze data to identify changes in natural phenomena and man-made processes, track traffic flows and monitor mining operations. The Griffin project is planned to be included in the program for creating the Russian multi-satellite constellation Sphere.
