BMW X5 2018 is in the lead

Automotive publication HotCars used vehicle reliability, maintenance, and pricing data from JD Power, Kelley Blue Book (KBB), Edmunds, RepairPal, CarEdge, and Consumer Reports (CR) to rank the 13 most reliable BMW models on the used car market.

The rating is topped by the 2018 BMW X5 crossover, the reliability and quality of which was rated by JD Power experts at 84 points out of 100 possible. Annual maintenance will cost the owner an average of $1,186.

Throughout its history, BMW has produced certain models that dramatically changed the course of the brand’s history. The BMW X5 is one such model. Introduced in the late ’90s, the X5 was BMW’s first crossover SUV model, helping the company achieve success in a market dominated by SUVs.

Its maintenance costs an average of $922 per year. Third place went to the 2016 BMW 5-Series with a quality and reliability score of 88 points out of 100. This is one of the most reliable BMW models ever. Its maintenance costs an average of $892 per year. Introduced in 1972, the 5 Series is BMW’s second best-selling model ever.
