A distinctive feature of the MPG Z490 Gaming Pro Carbon EK X board, a description of which is not yet available on the MSI website, is the presence of a water block. As the name of the board suggests, the water block is made by EK Water Blocks.
This water block belongs to the category of monoblocks, removing heat simultaneously from the processor installed in the LGA 1200 socket, and from the components of the power subsystem located nearby.
The base of the water block is made of copper and nickel-plated, and the cover material is transparent acrylic plastic. The lid is decorated with a carbon fiber trim and addressable LEDs designed to connect to the 3-pin ARGB connector on the system board.
Excluding the water block and the inscription Carbon EK X, the board is identical to the MPG Z490 Gaming Pro Carbon model. Its price is unknown, but the EK Quantum series water block, similar to the one installed on it, costs about $ 140 separately.
