Last month, Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo confirmed that the periscope lens will provide 5x to 6x optical zoom when taking photos with the main camera on the iPhone 15 Pro Max, compared to 3x on the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max. Periscope cameras have long been featured in Android flagships from Samsung, Google and Huawei, which offer 5x to 10x optical zoom.
