And a new GPU
Huawei today unexpectedly and quietly introduced the smartphone Mate 60 Pro . Such a strange announcement was supplemented by another strange feature: Huawei did not say anything about the platform of the device. And fresh data suggests that Huawei is hiding something new and interesting.
The smartphone has already appeared in the AnTuTu database, where it scored only 700,000 points. And we can say that even the Mate 50 Pro is gaining almost 1 million points, however, if you look closely, you can see that this result does not take into account GPU points, because they simply do not exist. For example, in Kirin 9000, the graphics core is gaining about 280,000 points, while in the novelty the result can be much higher. Of course, the new platform is unlikely to reach the level of Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, and it’s not a fact that it will be able to reach at least Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1, but still technically this is something very interesting.
The secret of Huawei Mate 60 Pro is revealed.
If only because, if the software determines everything correctly, the platform configuration includes a 12-core processor! There are six Cortex-A78AE cores, four Cortex-A510 cores and two Cortex-A34 cores, which seem to be the first in smartphone SoCs. Why they are needed in the case of Kirin 9000s is still unclear. AnTuTu also talks about the Maleoon GPU, which is also unfamiliar to us.
It cannot be ruled out that the benchmark still incorrectly determines the characteristics, and in fact the Kirin 9000s will turn out to be just a copy of the Kirin 9000 with some minimal changes.
