Pre-orders open today

Samsung Electronics today unveiled at the Galaxy Unpacked event not only the latest generation of its Galaxy Z Flip5 clamshell smartphone , the Galaxy Watch6 and Galaxy Watch6 Classic line of smartwatches  and the  Galaxy Tab S9 tablets , but also the new Galaxy Z Fold5 foldable smartphone.

According to the manufacturer, this is the thinnest and lightest smartphone ever released in the Galaxy Fold series. Samsung also eliminated a design flaw by eliminating the gap between the halves of the case when folded.

The gap raised concerns about durability, as dust, sand, dirt, and other particles could get on the phone’s internal display. According to some users, the gap in the last generation, the Galaxy Z Fold4, was even larger than in the Galaxy Z Fold3. As promised, the Galaxy Z Fold5 closes completely when folded, leaving no gaps.
