It will be released in 2025
BMW will launch a new platform in 2025. The Neue Klasse (New Class) architecture will form the basis of at least six new zero-emission crossovers. Germany is already testing one such vehicle, known as Project NA5, which is expected to arrive in the summer of 2025.
The high-slung EV is believed to be about the same size as today’s X3. However, it will get more storage space behind the rear seats, as well as a more spacious interior.
The car received hidden door handles, massive 255/45 R20 rear tires, blue brake calipers and a distinctive spoiler above the trunk lid.
This is the first BMW based on Neue Klasse architecture.
Last August, BMW confirmed that the first product based on the Neue Klasse platform would be an electric sedan. This crossover will follow, although some sources claim that the crossover will arrive first.
Production of the family-friendly electric crossover is expected to begin in July 2025 in Hungary. “The Neue Klasse is expected to account for more than half of our sales by the end of the decade,” said BMW CEO Oliver Zipse.
Within two years of the launch of the iX3 replacement, BMW will introduce no less than five electric vehicles. Some of them will be built in Germany, and by the end of the decade the company’s plant in South Carolina will also begin producing models based on the Neue Klasse.
