Li Auto’s first electric minivan, called Mega, became available for pre-order on Friday. Customers who pay $700 will have access to a test drive next January. In February, the Chinese automaker will begin deliveries to customers.
The price of Li Auto Mega will be announced at a press conference next month. According to preliminary information, it will be about $83,000. Clients can request a refund of their deposit at any time.
Mega designer Ben Baum said that this minivan has a drag coefficient of 0.215 Cd. That’s less than the Porsche Taycan’s drag coefficient of 0.220 Cd, which is an achievement for a huge minivan.

The car is mounted on a chassis measuring 5350 × 1965 × 1850 mm with a wheelbase of 3300 mm. The power plant includes a 543 hp engine. with a torque of 542 N•m. It accelerates to 100 km/h in 5.5 seconds. The motors are powered by a Qilin battery from Contemporary Amperex Technology (CATL). The battery has a capacity of 102.7 kWh with a density of 170 Wh/kg and an 800 V architecture for fast charging. In 12 minutes of charging, the car can get 500 km of power reserve. Consumption is 15.9 kWh/100 km, which is lower than Geely Zeekr 009 and BYD Denza D9.
The Li Auto Mega has three rows of seats covered in Nappa leather. The car is equipped with four wireless chargers and 21 speakers with a power of 2160 W. A 17-inch screen is available for rear passengers. The Mega body has a high torsional rigidity of 44,000 N•m/degree.
