TikTok Announces New Display Options for Ads and Products
Popular short video service TikTok is planning to launch several new promotional offers that target e-commerce. This is due to the platform’s intention to increase its revenues. Plans to launch new offers came after TikTok presented them to numerous US advertisers.
TikTok is gearing up to add new shopping tools to the platform, according to online sources, while continuing to assess its own e-commerce potential. As for the features themselves, one of them is called Collection Ads and allows brands to combine their catalogs with products along with promotional videos. Also, dynamic ads are expected to appear on the platform, automatically redirecting users to relevant product pages by their actions in applications and on advertisers’ websites.
Another new feature is called Promo Tiles. It allows advertisers to add customizable sales and promotions notifications to their feed ads. Simultaneously, the Showcase Tiles tool will allow you to see how content creators are promoting products in their videos, and links to related products will be available at the bottom of the screen.
According to reports, some of the features mentioned have already appeared in Douyin, the Chinese version of TikTok. Currently, Douyin generates most of its revenue from in-app commerce rather than advertising. Not surprisingly, TikTok wants to achieve a similar effect by adding more promotion and shopping options to the app.
