Titanfall 2’s popularity skyrocketed on Steam with 750% more players

The shooter titanfall 2, released by Respawn Entertainment in 2016, has seen a resurgence in player activity on Steam, with more than 750% more concurrent users from two weeks earlier.

The huge rise in interest in the game appears to be fueled by the 75 percent discount, which took effect on April 15th. According to SteamDB, thanks to the promotion, the number of active users in Titanfall 2 jumped 650% in two days. Shortly thereafter, the shooter broke its record for the number of players on the Valve site – just under 17,000.

Despite being released in 2016, Titanfall 2 was not on Steam until last summer. The previous record for all-time concurrent users (13,603) was reached shortly after the shooter hit the platform. The rise in player numbers is likely also driven by the recent announcement of the new season of Apex Legends, which directly references Titanfall’s characters and storyline. According to Electronic Arts, the battle royale has attracted over 100 million gamers.

Titanfall 2 is available on PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4.
