This SUV has a special purpose
Toyota introduced the updated classic Land Cruiser 70 in the summer, but then they were talking only about the regular 5-door version. A little later, details appeared about the pickup truck (such a car is popular in Australia), and even later they noticed an updated three-door (and these are selling well in the Middle East). And now the turn has come to the rarest version of the Land Cruiser 70 – 10-seater (code – GDJ76).
A “minibus” based on the Land Cruiser 70 is a real exotic: such a car cannot be bought, it is supplied only for humanitarian missions, and above all for the UN. The requirements for such machines are the most stringent, and the main thing is to be as simple and maintainable as possible. That is why the updated 10-seater Land Cruiser 70 did not receive either a new media system with a touch screen or an automatic switching system from low beam to high beam. But, at the same time, there is a Toyota Active Traction Control system (aka A-TRAC). From its predecessor, the SUV inherited its characteristic white color and snorkel.
Toyota has introduced an updated 10-seater Land Cruiser 70, which is not available for purchase.
The main innovations are under the hood of the GDJ76: the SUV received a 2.8-liter diesel turbo engine, paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission. Due to this, the car became 30% more economical, and the power almost doubled – from 129 to 201 hp. The new engine ensures compliance with Euro-4 emission standards, which gives the right to use the machine in a number of countries and territories where it could not be used before.
You can order the Toyota Land Cruiser 70 (GDJ76) at the Toyota Gibraltar office, but the price is not announced. The new car will be sold in parallel with its predecessor (code – HZJ76).
