After the update, the application changed its name and icon

Last week, Twitter was finally renamed to X, which, among other things, led to a change in the icon on smartphones. Not everyone likes the new one, and some users have decided that the old icon alone can cost thousands of dollars. As a result, a lot of ads for the sale of the iPhone appeared on the Web, which were not updated after the changes, so the familiar blue icons with a bird still flaunt on their desktop.

You can find quite a few such ads on Twitter itself (or already X) and on eBay, and prices sometimes reach some absurd values. For example, one user is selling a smartphone for $25,000! And this is a very elderly iPhone 11 Pro Max.

In most other cases the prices are much lower. There are also normal offers, when the markup for the old version of the software is only 100-200 dollars, and there are many offers for 4000-8000 dollars.

By the way, this is not the first such case. In 2014, the hugely popular Flappy Bird game was removed from the App Store and Google Play, and then people also rushed to sell their iPhones, where the game was still available. Of course, with a hefty premium.
