But the rise in price should be due to innovations
During the official presentation of the Xiaomi 14 and Xiaomi 14 Pro smartphones, company CEO Lei Jun said that Xiaomi 14 is the company’s latest flagship with a price of 4,000 yuan ($545). Later, he repeated this thesis on his Weibo page and launched a vote with two points: increasing the cost of Xiaomi 15 (relative to Xiaomi 14) due to new functions, software and “better texture” (here we mean new materials for finishing the case) or maintaining the price of current level.
Weibo users voted for Xiaomi 15 to be more expensive than Xiaomi 14
Approximately 61 thousand people took part in the survey. The majority – 37 thousand people – spoke in favor of increasing the price, 23 thousand voted for maintaining the price. So users for the most part agree with the increase in the cost of Xiaomi 15 announced by Lei Tsun relative to the current generation model.
