Now investigators are collecting opinions from market players
The European Commission may launch an investigation into Nvidia’s dominant position in the artificial intelligence accelerator market.
The Commission has informally begun collecting opinions from market players on potential unfair practices in this segment. This is not an investigation yet, and right now investigators are trying to determine whether there is a need to initiate this very investigation.
Will Nvidia be responsible for success?
The European Commission’s action follows a recent police raid on Nvidia’s offices in Paris, which in turn was prompted by potential antitrust actions in the graphics card industry.
If an investigation does begin and Nvidia is found guilty, it faces huge fines of up to 10% of its annual revenue, currently billions of dollars.
